Tantric Quest by Daniel Odier — A must read! One of my favorite books of all time, an incredible true story that plunges you into the tantric wavelength..

Desire: The Tantric Path to Awakening by Daniel Odier — What if it wasn’t about fulfilling your desires, but that desire itself was a pathway to God?

The Radiance Sutras by Lorin Roche — Another must read! A modern poetic translation of an ancient Tantric text in the form of short mystical meditations on the bliss of everyday life

Cutting through Spiritual Materialism by Chogyam Trungpa — Oh, spiritual seekers, if you haven’t read this one, start here and you will be properly humbled to even be able to begin the path..

Radical Acceptance: Embracing Your Life with the Heart of a Buddha by Tara Brach — One of the most healing books I have had the privilege of imbibing, about waking up from the “trance of unworthiness” and learning to truly love our lives.

The Multi-Orgasmic Man/Woman/Couple by Mantak Chia — Excellent intro to the Taoist practices for sexual energy mastery

Narcissus and Goldmund by Herman Hesse — My favorite novel of all time exploring what it means to seek God through devoted study versus plunging into the gorgeous chaos of Life

New and Selected Poems by Mary Oliver — Or anything that she writes.. It’s raw, real, often nature-based poetry that grips you and breaks your heart open to the beautiful, painful mess of it all. Same with David Whyte..

Teachers and Trainings

Reggie Ray, Dharma Ocean: I cannot more highly recommend Reggie’s teachings, he is me and Matt’s teacher of somatic meditation in the Tibetan Buddhist Tantric tradition known as the Vajrayana. The Tantric path is not about going up and out, but down and in, to fully inhabit these human bodies and lives. For many reasons we often stay disconnected from what we really feel. Reggie’s work invites students to connect to the intelligence of the body through somatic practices, and to begin to empty out the storehouse of traumatic experience we hold in our subconscious. Regularly holds fantastic online meditation trainings, hundreds of free podcasts to check out.

Shakti Malan, Shakti Shiva Academy: I was so blessed by even my brief time with this magnificent teacher and healer who beautifully traversed the realms of Classical and NeoTantra. She passed away in 2017, but her work lives on through her community in the form of comprehensive online courses and live retreats.

ISTA International School of Temple Arts: Sacred Sexual Shamanic Experience — Level 1 and 2, weeklong trainings happening all over the world that get you into your body and activating your sexual energy in a safe and loving community, also involves learning hands on sexual healing techniques.

Hakomi Institute, Comprehensive Training in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychology: A two-year training for therapists & coaches to learn mindfulness-based somatic therapy, one of the most powerful trainings I’ve taken!

Christopher “Hareesh” Wallis: Hareesh is one of the foremost Classical Tantric scholars alive today, and has TONS of material available for you to take your Tantric spiritual path deeper.

Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts: Based in New York City, this wild & hilarious diva is inspiring women of all ages to let loose, discover their erotic power and shine like a goddess! You can totally go, and take your mom with you. There’s a free weekend that happens once or twice a year for you to get a taste, but tickets go fast!

Healers & Other Amazing People & Communities

Matt Sturm: Healer & teacher of Sacred Sexuality, Founder of Embodied Erotic, former co-lead of Ritual Tantra. This man has brought about more healing in my life than any other human. I highly recommend his offerings. :)

Maya Luna: Poet & Ritual performance artist, Tantric Dakini of the most wild order. This woman is a force of nature! Check out her latest creation, “A Tantric Opus,” it’s Rumi-esque poetry celebrating the chaos of the dark feminine.

Layla Martin: Sacred Sexuality Teacher, Public Figure, check out her lively YouTube videos that are fun and informative!

SoulPlay Festivals: Every June and September, about 300 people gather in a glorious forest setting for a substance-free weekend of community, connection and play! Check it out!
